Department: Food & Beverage

JOB SUMMARY: 

Responsible for supervising the overall success of the Bakery operation, adhering to the standards and expectations of food quality, freshness, and creative presentations.  Oversees the daily administrative and operations tasks of the Bakery Department, including financial management, analysis, sanitation, and safety.  Motivates, trains, develops, and directs all team members to accomplish the goals and objectives of the operation for guest satisfaction.  Provides exceptional guest experience.  Solves problems professionally, rapidly, and fairly.  Coordinates ideas and projects with other Food and Beverage staff.   

Pay Range: $44.31 - $55.39

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. (Copy of either document must be submitted with application)
  • Post-secondary Pastry degree from an accredited school, or certification from the ACF or other accredited education facility, exhibiting professional pastry skills proficiencies.

SKILLS:

  • Must exhibit professional baking skills through a required baking test with plate presentation and verbal evaluation.  (Test required)
  • Must have strong math skills related to departmental industry financials. (Test required)

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum four (4) years experience as a Pastry Chef, preferably in a Resort Hotel/Casino property.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience filling high volume banquet and catering needs.
  • Prior experience overseeing multiple areas, such as - Fast Casual, Patisserie, and/or retail sale.
  • Prior experience in setting and maintaining par levels in inventory.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must be certified with the National Restaurant Association for SERVsafe Food Protection Manager Certification Course, or obtain within one (1) year of hire. (Attach copy of certification with application if applicable)
  • Knowledge of Labor laws, Health codes, & Liquor Laws.
  • Must posses a Food Handler’s permit, or obtain one within 60 days of hire. (attach copy with application)
